Highlights:
The pyramids of Egypt are some of the most prized cultural icons in the world today. Most of the pyramids of Egypt were constructed as tombs for the pharaohs from various dynasties and as tombs for their consorts. Many of the pyramids date to the Old and Middle Kingdom periods of Ancient Egypt.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 1 oz Silver World of Dragons Series The Egyptian Round is the final design of this stunning series. The three Egyptian pyramids that dot the desert landscape in the background are guarded by a large, powerful dragon in the foreground. The dragons body has armored scales and its head is adorned with a headdress similar to those worn by the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.
Reverse
Flip the round over to its reverse field and you will find the common design of the collection present on these 1 oz Silver World of Dragons Series rounds. The design field itself is dominated by the imposing appearance of a dragons eye as it pierces through the viewer. Inscriptions include World of Dragons at the top and One Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver at the bottom.
History
The World of Dragons Series of silver and copper rounds is exclusive to Provident Metals. The collection includes six distinctive designs in all, with most of the designs combining a cultural icon from a different corner of the globe with that civilizations own mythological dragon. Prior to the release of The Egyptian, the series featured The Aztec, The Welsh, The Chinese, The Norse, and The Indian.

"
Nice coin. Luster is a bit flat. Very nice detailing until you reach the head, which is rather cluttered. I got interested in collecting silver after the first coin of the series and missed it (The Aztec.) I do hope you restock them so I will have a complete set."

"
Dragon series are all nice pieces, i can't wait to see what type of series Provident will come out with next. I wish i had found Provident sooner to have gotten in on the Zombucks series, those were really cool. As always with Provident, Fast Shipping."

"
Pros: As it is, the coin does look nice. I give it 4 stars for creativity purely for the fantasy aspect and not the historical.
Cons: Ancient Egypt isn't known for dragons, but rather a mixture of cat or dog-like/humanoid. Since this isn't Ouroboros, it is a stretch to place this along with the other "dragons". Still, you will want this piece to finish off your collection." |
