Often considered one of the most beautiful coin designs in American history, the Walking Liberty visual from Adolph A. Weinman was in circulation in the US for 31 years. Popular when in circulation, Walking Liberty has been replicated numerous times since, including on the modern American Eagle Silver bullion coin. Right now, you can get $10 Face Values of 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars in circulated condition online from Provident Metals.
With your purchase of a $10 Face Value of 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars, you will receive a plastic bag containing a total of 20 individual silver coins. The coins in this listing add up to a total of $10 (USD) and each one has 90% silver content with a balance of 10% copper to complete the metallic alloy of the coins. Further, these coins are in circulated condition. You can expect to find common signs of wear and tear from handling and diminished visuals on the design elements and highest points of the coin.
The obverse side of $10 Face Value 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars includes a depiction of Lady Liberty in left-profile relief. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and shows Liberty walking toward the sun on the horizon as it crests a mountain. Liberty reaches out for the warmth and brightness of a new day with her right hand as her left hand carries branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is flowing over her shoulders. Inscriptions include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 1935.
On the reverse face of the 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars is another design from Weinman. This image of the American bald eagle shows a powerful aerial predator ready to lift off into flight while resting on its perch on a young sapling on the edge of a mountain cliff. The inscriptions found on this face of the coin read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and Half Dollar.
The design from Weinman was used on the half dollar until 1947. After being replaced by the Franklin Half Dollar, the Walking Liberty design did not appear again on American coins until 1986 when the American Eagle Silver bullion series debuted. Other private mints issue the Walking Liberty design on silver rounds and silver bars.
