The obverse of the 1888 Morgan Dollars showcases a captivating portrait of Lady Liberty, a design meticulously crafted by George T. Morgan in 1878. Liberty is elegantly portrayed in left-profile relief, adorned with a Phrygian cap, coronet crown, and a laurel wreath.

On the reverse side of the 1888-O Morgan Dollars is a striking depiction of the heraldic eagle, also designed by Morgan. This visual presents the eagle in front-facing relief, clutching the arrows of war in one talon and the olive branch of peace in the other.

The 1880s marked a time of change in America. The late 19th century was a period of significant industrialization in the United States. The country experienced economic growth, expansion of railroads, and the rise of industries such as steel and oil.
