Highlights:
At Provident Metals, you can acquire these remarkable 1923 Peace Dollar Silver Coins, all certified in Mint State 64 condition. Coins with this prestigious grade retain their average remaining mint luster and may display several small contact marks grouped together, along with one or two moderate marks, minor patches of hairlines, and a possibility of light scuff marks.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1923 Peace Dollars presents Anthony de Francisci’s masterful depiction of Lady Liberty. This striking left-profile bust of Liberty showcases her flowing hair and an exquisite crown adorned with tall, graceful spikes. Inscriptions on this side read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 1923.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse, you’ll find a captivating image of the American bald eagle on the 1923 Peace Dollar Silver Coin. A powerful symbol of peace following the conclusion of World War I, the coin depicts the regal bald eagle perched on a branch, gently clutching an olive branch in its talons. The word “PEACE” is prominently inscribed along the edge of the design field, serving as a lasting reminder of unity and harmony. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.
History
During the memorable year 1923, the Peace Dollar was minted by three branch mints. The Philadelphia Mint took the lead, producing an extraordinary 30.8 million coins. This figure is only surpassed by the Philadelphia Mint’s mintage of Peace Dollars in 1922.
