Obverse
The obverse design of the 1928 Pre-33 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles showcases the captivating image of Lady Liberty. She strides elegantly towards the viewer, surrounded by radiant rays of sunshine and a circle of stars. Inscriptions include LIBERTY and 1928.
Reverse

History
After briefly issuing the coins in the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Series in 1907 without the national motto, it was added later in the year and went into wider production in 1908. The national motto of IN GOD WE TRUST was added to the reverse between the sun and its rays.
