History
The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin began its journey with a 1 oz version in 1979. At that time, the South African Krugerrand was the only other gold bullion coin available, but it was not easily accessible to collectors and investors. In 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz variants, making gold ownership more accessible to all. Subsequently, a 1/2 oz coin debuted in 1986, followed by a 1/20 oz option in 1993.
