The 1992 Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin was struck by the United States Mint location based in Philadelphia. This coin was made with 22 karats of actual gold content and has a perfect metal balance of 3% silver, 5.33% copper, and 91.67% gold. The coin also features a proof finish, which means that the designs on each side of the coin are shown as frosted while the backgrounds appear as mirrored. History

The American Gold Eagle Coin collection started in 1986, and it wasn’t until 1987 that the Philadelphia Mint created the 1/2 ounce weight denomination of the coin. This weight version would continue to be manufactured and distributed by the Philadelphia Mint until after the year 1983, when the coins production would be transferred to the West Point Mint. This coin features a P mint mark to indicate that it originates from the Philadelphia Mint.

Obverse

The image of Lady Liberty is shown on the obverse of the 1992 Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin. in this design, the viewer will see Lady Liberty walking towards them with sun rays extending out behind her into the sky. Her hands are extended in the air, with one carrying a torch while the other holds an olive branch. The symbols included on this design are incredibly patriotic and help represent the history of the United States.

Reverse

A special eagle family design by Miley Busiek is shown on the reverse of the 1992 Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin. In the image, the viewer will see a male eagle flying overhead to a nest where a female eagle waits, along with its eaglets. In its talons, the male eagle carries an olive branch, which points toward the patriotic history of the United States.
