Introducing the ninth release from the Egyptian Gods Series, meet Wadjet, a formidable guardian goddess. In ancient Egyptian history, she held immense sway and was a vital figure in the Egyptian pantheon. Her influence extended beyond religion, impacting politics and society, particularly regarding the pharaoh’s authority and Egypt’s unity. You can now acquire the 2 oz Silver Wadjet Rounds at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Wadjet was closely tied to the Eye of Ra and the Eye of Horus, both symbols of divine and royal protection. The Eye of Ra typically featured a cobra emerging from a sun disk, while the Eye of Horus held similar symbolism. These eyes also held associations with healing and renewal.
Obverse
The front of the 2 oz Silver Wadjet Round displays the goddess in her unique blend of female and serpent forms. Common among Egyptian deities, Wadjet’s upper half is that of a beautiful woman, while her lower half transforms into a serpent.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2 oz Wadjet Rounds exhibit the goddess in her full serpent manifestation. A poised cobra rests atop an altar with a sizable bowl beneath. The backdrop showcases the familiar pyramid motif with hieroglyphs scattered throughout. Inscriptions include 2 OZ, AG, and 999.
History
Additionally, she shared a connection with other goddesses like Nekhbet, the vulture goddess of Upper Egypt. The two were often referred to as the “Two Ladies,” representing the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the pharaoh’s rule.
Ordering
These 2 oz Silver Wadjet Rounds are available individually in protective flips, or you can opt for convenient acrylic tubes containing 10 rounds. The rounds boast an impressive ultra-high-relief design, featuring a visually captivating background and raised 3D elements.
