Each 2003 Chinese Panda 1 oz Gold Coin in this collection is individually sealed in plastic. The 2003 release is noteworthy for two reasons. Firstly, it revived the tradition of featuring a new Giant Panda design on the reverse, a tradition followed from 1982 to 2001.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2003 Chinese Panda Gold Coins showcases the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a central structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex in Beijing, constructed in the early 15th century. Inscriptions include the nation of issue and the 2003 date mark.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2003 Panda 1 oz Gold Coin, you’ll find the beloved Giant Panda, native to the central highlands of China, easily recognizable by its striking black-and-white fur patches. The Giant Panda has been a consistent design feature on these coins since the series began in 1982. The inscriptions here read 1 OZ AU .999 and the 500 Yuan face value.
History
Additionally, the 2003 release of Chinese Panda Cold Coins marked the third release with an updated face value. The face value increased from 100 Yuan to 500 Yuan in 2001 after maintaining the former from 1981 to 2000.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
