The designs for the American Silver Eagles series, which was introduced in 1986, were created by Adolph Weinman and John Mercanti. Weinman constructed the obverse that features Lady Liberty journeying toward renewed hope as the sun rises in the distance. She carries laurel and oak branches as the stars and stripes whip in the wind as she walks. The design first appeared on the Walking Liberty Half Dollars from 1916-1947.
Mercanti, modeling his work from the Great Seal of the United States, designed a spread-winged bald eagle protected by a shield with a banner reading “E PLURIBUS UNUM” in its beak. It holds an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its claws and sits under 13 stars that represent the 13 colonies.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
