Obverse
The obverse side of the 2010-P Burnished ATB Hot Springs 5 oz Silver Coin comes with a depiction of President George Washington. The first president, the image of Washington is captured in left-profile relief in a bust designed in 1932 by John Flanagan. This design was created in 1932 for use on the US circulation quarter to mark the 200th anniversary of Washingtons birthday.
Reverse
On the reverse face of 2010 Burnished ATB Hot Springs 5 oz Silver Coins is an image of the parks headquarter building. There is a thermal fountain in front of the building that honors the natural hot springs found throughout the park.
History
Hot Springs National Park is the oldest federally protected site in the United States of America. It is more than 50 years older than the next oldest park and was established as Hot Springs Reservation by an Act of Congress in April 1832. Congress set aside the land as a recreational area and has numerous hot springs that have long been believed to possess medicinal powers.
