Gold coins are desired by many because they have both monetary and artistic value. Not only do they diversify your investment portfolio, but theyre also beautiful works of art that you get to hold and appreciate. The American Gold Buffalo is a prime example of this. It features a stunning, historic design by James Earle Fraser, and its also minted using 24-karat pure gold. When choosing what gold coin to buy, its hard to say no to that. Today, 2011 American Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coins are available to you for purchase online at Provident Metals.
Each 2011 American Buffalo 1 oz Coin arrives protected in a plastic flip. These coins also arrive in tubes if you order in multiples of 20. All the coins in this Provident Metals listing were crafted directly by the United States Mint.
The obverse of 2011 American Buffalo Gold Coins shows an indigenous tribal figure in right-profile relief. This is a composite image of three different chiefs from the Two Moons, Big Tree, and Iron Tail tribes. It was developed by American sculptor James Earle Fraser. The word LIBERTY is inscribed on this side, as well as the date of 2011.
On the reverse side of the 2011 Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin is a bison. This image is taken from the Buffalo nickel and has been heralded as a classic design by many. The bison is shown facing the left direction and has its head towards the ground. Youll find inscriptions that read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, $50, 1 OZ, .9999 FINE GOLD.
The American Gold Buffalo coin came about thanks to the 2005 Presidential $1 Coin Act. The bill was initially introduced in July 2004 but wasnt passed by the senate until November 18th, 2005. On December 22nd of that year, President George W. Bush signed the bill into law. The release of the Gold Buffalo enabled the United States Mint to both re-introduce the famous Buffalo nickel design and also to mint its first-ever 24-karat gold coin.
