Produced by the Mexico City Mint, the Silver Libertad has been a highly desired collector’s item since it was first produced in 1982. Composed of .999 fine silver, the 2014 1 oz coin has a diameter of 40mm.
The reverse features the Winged Victory Angel, commonly considered the symbol of Mexico City. The angel holds a chain in her left hand while hoisting a laurel leaf in her right. The coin’s weight, purity and year of mintage are inscribed in Spanish.
Wrapped around the outer edge of the obverse are ten historical Mexican Coat of Arms. Displayed in the center is an eagle with its wings outstretched, clutching a serpent in its beak. ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS — the official name of Mexico — is also engraved.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

Since inception in 1982 the Mexican libertad had undergone few changes. Four in total. I have been wanting to start a collection other than eagles which are reasonable to obtain. I ordered several different years covering most of the four types available. Provident never disappoints. Their shipping was super fast and the coin quality never disappoints. Not just these coins but any coins I have received from Provident are always "BU" unless otherwise noted. Great bullion site."

A little disappointed in my first Lib. Dull finish with no polished areas and had two gouges/dings in the reeded edge of coin. Was well packaged as usual by Provident, but first ever BU new coin with obvious flaw. Have now collected most foreign silver ounce coins and this was first that was damaged. Stick with nicer Perth, China ,and Canadian Mints in the next order."
