Obverse

Another popular way to depict Archangel Michael is standing over the dragon with a sword and spear to use to slay it.

History

The National Bank of Ukraine, which is located in the capital city of Kyiv, opened in 1992 after the fall and separation of the states within the Soviet Union. Originally, the mint served as a central bank for the region while it was Soviet-occupied, but now the bank is an independent Ukrainian government entity that produces the paper currency and coinage for circulation in the country, as well as commemorative precious metals.
