The 2015 Canadian oz Silver Calgary Stampede Coin is a celebration of the rugged history of the unconquerable spirit of the west. Each coin is manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint and consists of troy ounce of .9999 fine silver. Like other sovereign minted silver bullion coins, the Stampede Coin acts as legal tender and may be included in a self-directed Precious Metals IRA.
The reverse of this silver coin features a cowboy in the Calgary Stampede riding a bull. The cowboy holds on to the rigging with his left hand while his right arm is thrown back, hand in the air. The bull has jumped in an attempt to remove the cowboy from its back. The reverse carries the inscriptions “2015”, “CANADA”, “FINE SILVER 1/2 OZ AREGENT PUR 9999”, “Calgary Stampede”, “SH”, and the Calgary Stampede logo.
The obverse of the oz Calgary Stampede Coin features as effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in Great Britain. It also features the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II”, “D.G.REGINA”, and the face value “2 DOLLARS”.
The Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This rodeo can be traced back to 1886 when the Calgary and District Agricultural Society held its first fair.
