The 2016 Gold Panda reverse portrays a panda bear hugging a tree branch. Its ears and legs are carefully designed to showcase the panda’s multi-colored features. A wall of bamboo sticks lines the background of the image, while inscriptions of the coin’s denomination, weight, and purity complete the design.

Native to China, pandas are one of the most recognizable animals on the planet thanks to their black and white fur – the black typically covers the bear’s eyes, ears and legs. Males pandas can grow to nearly 350 pounds, with females weighing in around 275. Their diet consists mostly of bamboo, but they will occasionally eat other types of grass and small rodents.

The Temple of Heaven, an ancient architectural marvel, is depicted on the obverse. The building can be found in Beijing and on the obverse of each coin in the Panda series. “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and “2016” are inscribed.

Chinese Gold Pandas have been produced annually by the Chinese Mint since 1983. The highly anticipated coins feature a change in 2016, with the weights of each coin coming in slightly different than ever before. Formerly, the 1 oz coins weighed 31.1 grams, but the mint has decided to make the manufacturing process simpler, changing the weight to an even 30g. The change will also affect other weights, including the oz, or 7.78g coin, which moves to 8g. All Gold Pandas will be composed of .999 pure gold bullion.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

When will my order ship?

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
