In continuance with the changes made to the Chinese Pandas this year, the NGC certified 2016 Silver Pandas sonically sealed with a striking red core may now be ordered from our collection of certified silver bullion coins. Each round consists of 30 grams of .999 fine silver, and was graded as “Mint State 70”. A Mint State 70 grade indicates a perfect coin.
The 2016 Chinese Silver Panda reverse includes the profile of a panda climbing a tree in a bamboo forest. Its ears and legs are carefully created to showcase the panda’s multi-colored features. The reverse of the 2016 Silver Pandas also features a background of bamboo trees, and inscriptions of coins denomination, weight, and metal purity.
Native to China, pandas are some of the most familiar animals on earth thanks to their black and white pelt – the black typically covers the bear’s eyes, ears and legs. Males pandas can grow to almost 350 pounds, with females weighing in around 275. Their diet consists mostly of bamboo, nonetheless they will occasionally eat other sorts of grass and small rodents.
The Temple of Heaven, an ancient architectural wonder, is depicted on the obverse. The building can be found in Beijing and on the obverse of each coin in the Panda series. “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and “2016” are inscribed.
The label on these 30 gram silver coins features a panda bear, and are printed with “2016 CHINA S10Y”, “PANDA”, “2016”, and “MS 70”.
Chinese Silver Pandas are released annually by the Chinese Mint since 1983. New to the 2016 Silver Pandas is a strict metric weight instead of the common troy ounces standard. Formerly, the 1 oz coins weighed 31.1 grams, but the mint has chosen to make the production process easier, altering the weight to an even 30g.
