Each of the coins in this listing was given a near-perfect grade from the NGC. Coins with MS69 grades must have their full, original mint luster. A maximum of two minor detracting flaws allowed on the surface of these coins.

The DPL designation denotes that a bullion coin has features of a proof specimen. This means that the surface of each coin will have a deeply-mirror finish, with frosted design elements.

Obverse

On the obverse of each of these coins, you will find the brand new image of Queen Elizabeth II. This new image was created by Jody Clark, who was just 33 when the design was unveiled in 2015. Clark is the youngest artist to create a rendition of the Queen for British currency. Along with this new image, there are several engravings on this side of the coin.

Reverse

The reverse face of the coin showcases the new lunar-themed image. For 2016, the Year of the Monkey, you will find the image of Rhesus monkeys swinging through the trees. You can also see the Chinese symbol for monkey, as well as the weight, metal content, year of issue, and purity of the coin.

History

The Royal Mint debuted the Shengxiao Series in 2014 with the Year of the Horse Coin. All of the coins in this series have been designed by Wuon-Gean Ho.
