Reverse

The reverse face of the coins in the 2016 Proof US Mint America the Beautiful Silver Quarter Sets features one of five different designs. These images represent Shawnee National Forest, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and Fort Sumter National Monument. The inscriptions on these coins vary for the site and state, but the inscriptions of 2016 and E PLURIBUS UNUM feature on all of the coins.

History

Each site and state in the ATB Series features in the collection based on its age as a federally protected site. The coins issued in 2010 were first because those sites were among the earliest federally protected sites. The sites featured in 2016 were all formally established as federally protected locations between 1939 and 1948.
