The 2017 American Platinum Eagle is the only investment-grade platinum bullion made annually by the US Mint. Along with being beautifully designed, each Platinum Eagle contains one troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. These bullion coins make a great addition to your investment portfolio, and they are eligible for most precious metals IRA accounts as well.
A portrait of the Statue of Liberty is seen on the coin’s obverse, representing patriotism and freedom. “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is inscribed atop her raised arm. Additional inscriptions include “2017,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “LIBERTY.”
The reverse features a detailed sculpt of a bald eagle, the national bird, flying out from the sun’s rays. You will find inscriptions of “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “.9995 PLATINUM 1 OZ,” and the face value of “$100.”
Created by the Coinage Act of 1792, the US Mint is responsible for manufacturing all US circulation coins and legal tender bullion. The Platinum Eagle was first produced in 1997, following the success of the American Gold Eagle and the American Silver Eagle.
American Platinum Eagles ship in brilliant uncirculated condition as received from the mint. Single coins ship in plastic flips, quantities of 20 ship in a mint tube, and quantities of 100 ship in a strapped monster box.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
