On the obverse of the 2017 Reverse Proof Canadian Silver Welcome to the World Coin is the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty has featured on British, Canadian, and other commonwealth coinage since 1952, and this current image in use on Canadian coins comes from Susanna Blunt, who created the design in 2003.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2017 Reverse Proof Canadian Welcome to the World 1/2 oz Silver Coin features a pair of baby footprints. The sweet little footprints have visible wrinkles and lines. The lines on your feet are actually as unique as the fingerprints on the tips of your fingers. Also featured on the reverse of the coin is the face value, year of release and country of release.
Your 2017 Reverse Proof Canadian Welcome to the World 1/2 oz Silver Coin was struck in brilliant reverse proof. A reverse proof coin has deeply-mirrored features to the design finish and a strong, frosted matte background instead of the traditional proof finishing aspects. Incuse designs, as the footprints are, are set into the surface of the coin rather than protruding outward from it.
