Get ready for the new year with the 2017 1/20 oz Year of the Rooster Gold Coin from Provident Metals. This 1/20 oz round is composed of .9999 fine gold and adds shine to gold bullion collection. The Rooster is the latest design in the popular Lunar II series from the Perth Mint. Each design celebrates an animal from the Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese zodiac is an astrological calendar used in Chinese culture to predict behavioral characteristics in an individual based on the year of birth. Each year is represented by an animal. Those born during the year of the rooster are thought to be courageous, observant, and talented.

The reverse features the 10th animal in the Chinese zodiac- the rooster. The rooster stands proudly in a bed made from bamboo and leaves. The caption reads: “Year of the Rooster.” The Chinese symbol for “rooster” adds a beautiful detail to the field about the majestic bird.

Her Majesty, the Queen, Elizabeth II dons the obverse. Her effigy, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, has been used since 1998 when Broadley beat out 10 other artists to secure the spot on all sovereign bullion with his rendition of the monarch. The coin’s attributes are inscribed beneath the effigy: “1/20 OZ 9999 GOLD,” “2017,” and the face value, “5 DOLLARS.”

Coins are carefully packaged in plastic capsules and placed in resealable poly bags for shipment.

Celebrate the rooster with the 2017 1/20 oz Year of the Rooster Gold Coin from Provident Metals. Order online or call 800-313-3315!
