The reverse design of the 2017 Ukrainian Archangel Michael 1 oz Silver Coin featured an image of the Ukraine coat of arms. The Ukraine, in Eastern Europe, is bordered to the north-east by Russia, with Hungary, Poland and Slovakia to the west. Belarus, Moldova and Romania also border the Ukraine. With a population of 42 million, the Ukraine is the 32nd most populous country.
These silver coins are issued by the National Bank of Ukraine. The banks name is engraved in Ukrainian on the coins reverse. Each year the coins are released with the same depiction of Saint Michael, with a new year engraved on the coin. The coins are legal tender in the Ukraine.
