The 2018 Australian Lunar Dog 1 oz Silver Coin is the 11th design released in the Lunar Series II, by the Perth Mint. The series brings to life the 12 animals that are featured on the Chinese Lunar, or Zodiac, calendar. The Year of the Dog design for 2018 features two German shepherds. The coins contain 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver, and are offered in limited numbers of the certified coins. These coins are certified by the NGC as being Mint State 70. The coins in this series are highly collectible and eagerly sought out by collectors of the Chinese Lunar II series.

The 2018 Australian Lunar Dog 1 oz Silver Coin is rated by the NGC as Mint State 70. Coins graded with this Mint State are considered to be absolutely perfect, with no discernable flaws. The coins are delivered secured in protective plastic slabs, sealed by the NGC to ensure their continued excellent condition.

The obverse design of the Australian Silver Dog coins features the effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fourth-generation design of Her Majesty to appear on coinage since she took the throne. The image was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2018 Australian Lunar Dog 1 oz Silver Coin features the image of two German Shepherd dogs. The adult and puppy are shown laying down in a field. Other elements of the coin include Chinese peony flowers in the background and the Chinese symbol for dog above the dogs.
