This years coin is the 5th in the series with a design that differs from those before it. John Mercanti created the first design in the series for the 2014 and 2015 coins. 2016 and 2017 both had fresh designs, and now another new design is being featured in 2018. The 2018 coin has also been enhanced to .9999 pure silver.
