One of the recent coin series available from the Royal Mint of England was the Landmarks of Britain Series. The collection features distinctive designs of some of the most well-known architectural landmarks from the United Kingdom. The four-coin series offered limited mintages and beautiful reverse designs. Right now, you can buy 2018 British Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
If you purchase one of these 2018 British Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver coins, you will receive those items inside of either an individual protective plastic capsule or a sealed roll of 20 coins. Each of the individual coins is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver Coin is the second release of the series and the first in 2018 following the 2017 debut of the series with the Big Ben design.
The obverse side of the 2018 British Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver Coins includes a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in the fifth-generation effigy created in July 2015 by Jody Clark. This depiction of the Queen shows her wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Inscriptions on the field include 2 Pounds, Elizabeth II, and D.G. Reg F.D. The background field of the coin features the newly-introduced guilloche background element that debuted on 2018 coins from the Royal Mint of England.
On the reverse field of 2018 British Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver Coins is a visual of the bridge over the River Thames from one of its banks. The bridge took a total of eight years to build between 1886 and 1894. The bridge spans the River Thames near the Tower of London and is a combination of a bascule bridge and suspension bridge.
The central portion of the Tower Bridge contains the bascule element with a portion that can be raised to allow for boat traffic to pass under the bridge. When this span is closed, the bridge has a clearance above the waterline of just 28 feet that expands to 139 feet when the span is opened for traffic.
