Like most of the Royal Canadian Mint’s coins, the obverse of the Silver Maple features a profile view of Queen Elizabeth II. You’ll also find inscriptions of “ELIZABETH II,” “5 DOLLARS,” and “2018.”
The focal point of the reverse is Canada’s signature maple leaf, sculpted with intricate detail by Walter Ott. Next to the stem, you’ll find an intricately engraved design of a Labrador Retriever that serves as the coin’s privy mark. A nod to the Chinese zodiac’s year of the dog, people born of this sign are said to be loyal, compassionate, generous, honest, energetic, kind, and supportive. They share the qualities of man’s best friend.
Recognized as the world’s first pure silver bullion coin, the Canadian Silver Maple has been released annually by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988. Additionally, the mint produces all of Canada’s circulation coins, precious metal bullion coins, and various medallions. The mint is known for their proprietary bullion DNA technology, which acts as an anti-counterfeiting measure.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
