Your 2018 Chad Hound of Baskervilles Lunar Dog Ominous 1 oz Silver Coin is housed inside of themed boxes. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with each coin. The coins have a low mintage of just 999 per design. The images are struck on ultra-high relief blanks with an antique polish that gives them the appearance of ancient coinage.
Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the Hound of Baskervilles appeared in the Strand Magazine from 1901 to 1902 and is set in the West Country of England. It tells the story of an attempted murder inspired by the legend of a mythical hound from supernatural origins.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2018 Chad Hound of Baskervilles Lunar Dog Ominous 1 oz Silver Coin features the coat of arms for the Republic of Chad. A moon is centered above the coat of arms, which has two massive paws reaching around to encompass the seal. Each of the paws has six claws for a total of 12 to represent all 12 animals in the Zodiac.
Reverse
The reverse design of the coin is the artwork that was inspired by the Hound of Baskervilles. The Year of the Dog 2018 is shown along the edge of these rimless coins. The Chinese symbol for dog is also depicted on this side of the coin. The dog is shown to be snarling and salivating, with an enraged expression on its face.
