History
This is the first-ever silver foil from the Perth Mint and it offers a beautiful re-creation of the feature film poster from Alien. The film won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects following its release and was deemed culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant by the Library of Congress. It has also been chosen for preservation by the United States National Film Registry. Alien was so popular it spawned three sequels in the form of Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection produced throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. In 2012 and 2017, prequel films were produced in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
