This ancient Greek inscription stands for of the Athenians.

The design used in this series is inspired by the tetradrachm. Issued in Athens from 510 BC to 38 BC, the coin was widely used throughout Ancient Greece in city-states beyond Athens. The original coins had the Athenian Owl on the reverse and a bust of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, on the obverse.
