Obverse
The obverse of all 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Gold Coins showcase the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II created by Jody Clark. As the fifth generation of Her Majestys image, this image is fairly new. It was created in 2015.
Reverse
On the reverse side of each of these coins, you will see the Yale of Beaufort with the shield of Lady Margaret Beaufort. The mythical Yale looks like an antelope- or goat-like beast. It has large, twisting horns and the tusks of a boar. The horns might look different depending on who created the image. On the coin, the horns corkscrew.
History
Lady Margaret Beaufort, heir of John Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, married her second husband Edmund Tudor and had a son. This so was King Henry VII. King Henry used his mothers coat of arms, and thus, he used the Yale as a symbol of his family.
