History

Nazareth is described in the Bible as the city in which Jesus Christ was raised by Mary and Joseph. Joseph married her and the couple would make a pilgrimage to Bethlehem to partake in a Roman census that would see Jesus born in the latter city. After, however, the couple moved back to Nazareth with the newborn baby Jesus.
