Obverse

On the obverse of the 2019 Proof American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold coin, you will find an image of Lady Liberty In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned Augustus Saint-Gaudens to create a new design for U.S. coins. Lady Liberty is showcased walking away from the U.S. capitol building while carrying a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.

Reverse

The reverse features an American bald eagle family. The female eagle rests in the family nest while protecting a young hatchling. Overhead, a male eagle flies while carrying an olive branch in its talons. The coin designer Miley Busiek created this image in 1986, and it is reserved for Gold Eagle coins.
