American Eagle Gold Coins were the purest gold coins issued in the United States since 1834. The 1986 debut of the American Eagle Gold Coin ended 152 years without a coin as pure as 22-karat gold content. All coins produced from 1834 to 1837 were below 22-karat content and all coins issued from 1837 to 1933, when gold coining ended altogether, had .900 gold content.

On the obverse of 2020 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins is the image of Lady Liberty. This front-facing design depicts Liberty walking away from Washington D.C. The US Capitol Building is depicted at her feet as she walks forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand. There are 50 stars in a circle surrounding her figure.

The reverse side of 2020 American Eagle Gold Coins comes with a family of American bald eagles. The design was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek and features a male eagle flying over the nest as a female eagle guards over a young hatchling.

The American Eagle Gold Coins are produced with 22-karat gold content. This means that each coin has 91.67% gold content by weight with 5.33% copper and 3% silver making up the remainder of the coins metallic content.

Your 2020 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin is available to purchase in near-perfect condition. Coins with a Mint State 69 certification have full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of these flaws include minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
