The Australian Quokka bullion coins from the Perth Mint join a long list of popular silver and gold coins from the Western Australia-based mint that feature native animal species. Inspired by the 1990 launch of the Australian Kookaburra, a number of the continents native wildlife species now feature on annual bullion programs. The Perth Mint is famous for its use of innovative new designs for each collection with each date mark. Provident Metals now has 2020 Australian Quokka 1 oz Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
When you purchase the 2020 Australian Quokka 1 oz Silver Coin online from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the mint. Coins in this series are packaged individually inside of protective plastic capsules, by multiples of 20 inside rolls, or by multiples of 100 in boxes. The box contains a total of five individual rolls of 20 coins each.
The obverse side of 2020 Australian Quokka Silver Coins features a right-profile bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in a sixth-generation design for Australian coins that was created in 2015 by Jody Clark for initial use by the Royal Mint of England. The image shows the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem on her head. The inscriptions on this side of the coin include Elizabeth II, Australia, 1 oz 9999 Ag, 2020, and 1 Dollar.
On the reverse face of the 2020 Australian Quokka 1 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of the friendly marsupial on a beach. The quokka is about the size of a cat and is shown on a beach here with a bit of foliage in its paws. There is a lighthouse along the shoreline in the distant background and the traditional P mint mark of the Perth Mint. This side includes an inscription of Quokka along the top and has a hidden security element. Under a microscope, you will be able to see a singular letter the Perth Mint has included as a security feature.
Quokkas are marsupials like the koala, kangaroo, wallaby, and wombat. The quokka is most closely related within this family to the kangaroo and wallaby. The quokkas live in small ranges within Australia, with most located on islands just off the coast of Western Australia.
