History
Queen was formed in London in 1970 when Taylor and May left Smile to join up with Freddie Mercury and form Queen. In 1971, the group recruited John Deacon. The quartet performed together until 1986 when Mercury gave his last performance before stepping aside. He would later die in 1991 from complications related to AIDS. John Deacon later retired in 1997. Taylor and May continue to perform as Queen+ with vocals from Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert.
