The obverse face of 2020 Colorized Homer Simpson 1/2 oz Silver Coin bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fifth-generation design of Her Majesty featured on Tuvalu coins and was designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England. She wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara in this design, a tiara gifted to her grandmother Mary of Teck upon her marriage to the King of England.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2020 Colorized Homer Simpson 1/2 oz Silver Coin is Homer Simpson. This colorized coin features Homer in his work clothes as he heads into the nuclear power plant as it belches thick plumes of exhaust smoke into the sky. History
The Perth Mint debuted a character series of 1 oz silver colorized coins in 2019 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the shows debut on TV as a separate animated series. Homer was the first coin issued in that collection and the design was so popular it quickly sold out.
