For the 60^th anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the United States Mint issued a remarkable collection of coins. In addition to this BU silver version, they also released a silver Proof and silver-clad specimen. BU and Proof gold editions were also released. When they originally sold these coins, there were $10 surcharges, with all proceeds going to educational programming at the Hall of Fame.
