The Royal Mint of England is celebrating more than a half-century of James Bond and the release of the 25th feature film in the franchise with a series of brilliant proof silver coins for collectors. The super-spy franchise started as a novel series in 1952 and came to the big screen in 1962 with Sean Connery in the lead role as the first James Bond. Right now, you can purchase the 2020 Proof British Bond, James Bond 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of the 2020 Proof British Bond, James Bond 1 oz Silver Coin, you receive your coin inside of a commemorative display from the Royal Mint of England. Each coin is individually housed inside of a protective presentation box that includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The COA booklet also features details on the history of the early James Bond feature films.
Obverse
On the obverse face of 2020 Proof British Bond, James Bond 1 oz Silver Coins is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fifth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and was designed by Jody Clark in July 2015. Clark is the youngest artist to ever design a monarch portrait for British currency. His design captures the Queen at the age of 89 in right-profile relief as she wears the George IV State Diadem Crown.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2020 Proof British Bond, James Bond 1 oz Silver Coin includes an image of the famed Aston Martin DB5 from the early feature films. The first spy car-sports car combo used by Bond, the image of this famous auto was created for this release by Matt Dent and Christian Davies. It includes a giant 0 in this design and the phrase Bond, James Bond.
History
Ian Fleming introduced the world to the James Bond character in 1952 in his first novel focusing on the MI6 secret agent. He was known simply by his agent number, 007, to many, but in the outside world, he went by the name James Bond. To date, 12 novel and short-story collections have been written about the Bond character and 25 feature films produced.
