The 2020 U.S. Mint Silver Proof America the Beautiful Quarter Set is the eleventh-anniversary release of the America the Beautiful Quarter Series. Every quarter in this 2020 Set was struck with 99.9% silver and features a proof finish. This means that the background of the coin looks mirrored while the design looks frosted. This allows for the quarter to have visual contrast for the viewer to enjoy.

History

Beginning in 2009, the America the Beautiful Quarter Set began to be circulated after the States Quarters Program came to an end. Instead of featuring imagery related to each state like the previous program did, the America the Beautiful Quarter Program shows images of national and historic parks from across the United States and its territories.

Obverse

The portrait of George Washington is shown on the obverse of each quarter in the 2020 U.S. Mint Silver Proof America the Beautiful Quarter Set. Washington is known for his role as a United States leader, as well as the first official president of the U.S. The image of his portrait was created by John Flanagan in 1932 and remains the obverse design on the United States quarter even today.

Reverse

The 2020 U.S. Mint Silver Proof America the Beautiful Quarter Set features five different reverse designs, which include: the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the National Park of American Samoa in American Samoa, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Vermont, the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas, and the Weir Farm National Historic Site in Connecticut.
