2021 is the 35th-anniversary date in the American Eagle Series of gold and silver coins. In a historic move for the 35th anniversary, the United States Mint has chosen new reverse designs for each of the gold and silver issues. In another stunning twist, those designs wont be available until mid-2021, which means the 2021 date mark in the 2021 release will feature two different design combinations. The early issues in the year will have the original design combinations, while issues after mid-year will have the new reverse paired with the existing Liberty designs in each series. Provident Metals currently has perfect 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase these 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins at Provident Metals, the specimens you receive come with a perfect certification. The PCGS issues a Mint State 70 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws of any kind present on the specimen. The First Strike label means the coins were received by the PCGS for certification within the opening 30 days following the release by the US Mint.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is depicted on the obverse side of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. Her figure is shown in left-profile relief walking toward a mountain on the horizon as the sun crests over the mountaintop. The American flag is draped over her shoulders as she walks with her right hand outstretched and her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.
Reverse
For the reverse design of the 2021 American Eagle Silver Coin, the heraldic eagle of the United States features for the final time. The design was modernized for this coin release in 1986 by John Mercanti and shows the American bald eagle with the US national shield, arrows of war, and olive branch of peace. One of the most significant alterations in Mercantis version of the seal is the inclusion of a tight, triangular cluster of 13 stars above the eagles head. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar.
History
Introduced in 1986, the American Eagle Silver Coin has been available annually since that time in a Brilliant Uncirculated version. The Proof version of the coin was released in 1986 as well, and has only missed the 2009 date mark. The Burnished version debuted in 2006 and has been available in all years except 2009 and 2010.
