Obverse

This is the sixth-generation bust of the Queen to feature on the obverse of Australian coins and depicts the Queen, aged 89, wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Part of the Crown Jewels, the George IV Diadem has 1,333 diamonds in its setting. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II, Australia, and 1/2 oz 9999 Ag 1 Dollar.
Reverse
An ox is depicted with its young calf nearby on the reverse field of 2021 Australian Lunar Ox Silver Coin. The new design for 2021 comes from Ing Ing Jong and depicts an adult standing beneath the branch of a cherry blossom tree as a young calf stands nearby looking up to the adult ox. The inscriptions found on this side of the coin read Ox 2021 and include a Chinese symbol for the ox.
History
Ing Ing Jong has been the designer of note for most of the images in the Lunar Series collections since 2013. She was hired by the Perth Mint in 2011 and was first assigned a Lunar Series image starting in 2013 with the Year of the Snake in the Lunar Series II collection.
