The Royal Canadian Mints Maple Leaf bullion coin series is one of the most complete and diverse bullion collections in the world. When you buy the 2021 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coins available from Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are packaged individually with protective plastic flips, while multiples of 10 are available in mint tubes.

Obverse

The obverse side of 2021 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coins includes a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning monarch in British history and has featured on Canadian coins throughout her reign as the nation is a Commonwealth nation within the United Kingdom. The Queens effigy of Canadian coins was last updated in 2003 by Susanna Blunt and shows the Queen in right-profile relief without a crown on her head. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II and 50 Dollars 2021.

Reverse

On the reverse face of the 2021 Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin is a depiction of the historic sugar maple leaf. The sugar maple leaf is the national emblem of Canada and features on the national flag, but is also a popular emblem for government agencies and private companies. The NHLs Toronto Maple Leafs famously use the leaf as a logo. The sugar maple leaf design at the center was created in 1979 by Walter Ott and is accompanied by inscriptions of Canada, 9995, and Fine Platinum 1 oz Platine Pur.

History

Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coins were issued from 1988 to 2002 and have been available again annually since 2009. The fractional-ounce coins in this series were released from 1988 to 2002, but the 2003 suspension of the program resulted in the fractional-ounce coins not returning in 2009.
