Designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this is the first design of the Queen during her reign to feature on Canadian coins without a crown or tiara included. The design field is backed by precision-engraved radial lines and comes with inscriptions of Elizabeth II and 5 Dollars 2021.

Reverse

A sugar maple leaf is featured on the reverse design element of the 2021 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins. This design was created in 1979 by Walter Ott for the Royal Canadian Mint to use on its Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins. The design includes a thin application of 24-karat gold only on the sugar maple leaf itself. The background has the same radial lines from the obverse, with a micro laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark as well. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read Canada, 9999, and Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pur.

History
