The George Washington Quarter design from the United States Mint has maintained a steady obverse visual element, with occasional changes to the reverse field of the coins. The most common feature on the reverse has been the American bald eagle. Designs representing the individual states appeared throughout the State Quarters Series and the subsequent ATB images. US quarters have the second-longest-running design still in use on circulation legal tender. The 1909 redesign of the copper penny is the oldest design with its right-profile portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. The 1932 redesign of the silver quarter brought the nations first president to the face of the coin, where he remains to this day nearly a century later.

On the obverse side of 2021 George Washington Pinnacle Black Ruthenium Quarters is a portrait of President George Washington. This left-profile portrait was created by John Flanagan in 1932 with a 1786 bust of the first president serving as the inspiration for this design. The inscriptions on this field of the coin include Liberty, In God We Trust and 2021.

The reverse face of the 2021 George Washington Pinnacle Black Ruthenium Quarters comes with a new design in 2021. The artwork now found on this side depicts Washington as the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army leading his forces across an icy Delaware River to launch an attack on Trenton, New Jersey. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, Quarter Dollar, and Crossing the Delaware.

Washingtons crossing of the Delaware River on the night of December 25, 1776, was a calculated gamble to try and strike a blow at British forces that would boost American morale before hostilities were halted for the winter. Washington and his forces decisively defeated the Hessian mercenaries serving for the British Army guarding the city of Trenton.

2021 George Washington Pinnacle Black Ruthenium Quarters are available to purchase with acrylic capsules and a small display for the coin. There is also a Certificate of Authenticity available with your purchase. The coins available here have a beautiful black ruthenium background with 24-karat gold layered on the design elements.
