Queen Elizabeth II can be found on the obverse of 2021 Niue Faberge Pelican Egg Silver Coins. In this portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, Her Majesty is in right-profile relief and is wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Below the effigy, a Faberge egg has been opened, revealing the surprise gift within. Youll see inscriptions on the obverse that read NIUE ISLAND, ELIZABETH II, 2021, 2 DOLLARS, AG .999.

The Pelican egg is depicted on the reverse field of the 2021 Niue Faberge Egg 2 oz Silver Coin. There is a beautiful decorative arrangement in the background in rose gold plating, and in the foreground, youll see a colorized pelican feeding her young. The food she is delivering is depicted in the form of a red crystal insert. Inscribed along the upper rim are the words IMPERIAL FABERGE EGG.

Like all of the Imperial Eggs, the Pelican was created as an Easter gift by the House of Faberge. Emperor Nicholas II commissioned two eggs per year, one for his wife Alexandra, and the other for his mother, the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna. The Pelican egg was presented to his mother in 1898, with the image of the bird feeding her young meant to symbolize maternal love.
