On the Type 1 coin, you will find a front-facing eagle supporting the US national shield as it clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. On the Type 2 coin, you will find a bald eagle in flight with a large oak branch in its talons. Both coins have inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR. The Type 1 coin has a W mint mark on this side, while the Type 2 has an S mint mark.
