History

The United States Mint has issued these coins annually since 1986 with the same designs on the obverse and reverse. While the obverse design will remain indefinitely moving forward, the 35^th anniversary of the series will bring a new design of the American bald eagle to the reverse. Those new designs are not ready for the production process yet, with the US Mint releasing the first batches of 2021 Proofs with the classic designs.
