Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 Australian Rectangular Dragon Gold Coins, you will find the sixth-generation portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to feature on Australian coins. This visual shows the Queen at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Jody Clark created this design in 2015 for the Royal Mint and it debuted on Australian coins in 2018. Inscriptions on this side read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 9999 AU, 100 DOLLARS, and 2022.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 Australian Dragon 1 oz Gold Coin comes with a new image of the Chinese dragon. Each date mark in this series offers a new image of the dragon, with this years design showing the beast as it curls down the face of the coin. The tale of the beast is at the top, while the head is at the bottom. It is shown reaching out with one of its claws to try and capture the flaming pearl. This side boasts a P mint mark from Perth Mint.
History
Among the many popular stories involving dragons in China is the creation of its four major rivers. Four sky dragons were said to have disobeyed the Jade Emperor in scooping water from the seas to rain down on the crops of the people. As punishment, the Jade Emperor trapped the dragons on the Earth using mountains, with each one then forming one of Chinas four major rivers.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
