In the Una and the Lion Series, the mint focuses on the famous duo from the epic poem The Faerie Queene. The poem was written by English author Edmund Spenser in 1590 and eventually republished in 1596 as a complete work with the first through third books combined with his newer works in the fourth through sixth books.

Obverse

In this design, Una is shown on the left in a seated position with a staff resting against her left shoulder. Seated nearby, the noble lion looks at Una with a stoic look on its face.
